Based on the AM2+ socket, AMD Phenom™ processors introduce faster clock speeds, more processor cores, faster memory support and an accompanying new HyperTransport™ standard which greatly improves the available bandwidth between CPU and system.
HyperTransport™ 3.0 increases aggregate bandwidth between CPU and system up to 41.6GB/s – more than twice the previous standard and enabling other system components to scale up to their true performance potential.
AM2+ CPUs combine up to 4 processor cores, along with an on-board memory controller which supports Dual Channel DDR2 1066MHz memory.
